Giving your child the gift of music while they are still young can be one of the most meaningful investments you could make in their life, and our London piano lessons for kids are structured to support the musical goals you have for your children. Your child’s or grandchild’s life will be permanently enriched from music lessons, whether they continue with music as a career, enjoy it as a serious amateur pursuit, or play casually for their own benefit and that of their friends and family.
That said, it is imperative that you provide your child with the highest quality of music education that you can find — after all, you are building habits and a foundation upon which all of their continuing musical study will rest.
At London Piano Centre, your child will learn the art of piano on a professional level piano and take lessons from accomplished international performing artists. We provide the finest piano lessons in London, and our goal is to honor your child’s potential witt world-class instruction.
Is Your Child Old Enough To Start Piano Lessons?
While many piano schools will teach children as young as 2 years old, our studio offers lessons to children starting at age 6. We believe that to be an appropriate age for our style of teaching, and a strong command of language and comprehension are required for lessons. A child also needs a high degree of self control; while your child may very well have the aptitude for lessons or be ahead of the curve attention-wise, our junior lesson plan is specifically structured for students aged 6-10.
Why Not Offer Piano Lessons For 3 Year Olds or 4 Year Olds?
As mentioned above, we have a tailored lesson structure that we believe is best for children aged 6-10; however, that’s not to say that you should not pursue music education for your young child. If you are looking for piano lessons for toddlers or piano lessons for kids ages 3-5, we recommend that you:
- Enroll them in an early childhood music program
- Place them on our waitlist when they are closer to age 6
- Commence lessons at London Piano Centre when they meet our age threshold
You can give your child a foundation in rhythm and ear training, and they will hit the ground running when they begin piano lessons with our teachers.
There’s also no need to rush your child’s musical development by placing them in music class prior to age 6 — you can certainly wait to start them as a beginner at the London Piano Centre, and we will bring them up to speed in no time at all. If you have questions about our teaching curriculum, how we like to work with young students, or anything else, please get in touch at your earliest convenience.

Do You Offer Piano Classes for Kids?
At this time, the London Piano Centre offers private piano lessons for children. We think this method is the most effective way to teach, and we believe that young children grow the fastest in a one-to-one lesson setting. That said, we are supportive of parents who wish to enroll their child in a group class as a supplement to their private lessons.
What Will Your Child Learn At The London Piano Centre?
We cover all of the fundamentals in our lessons with children, and we want to facilitate a lifetime of music enjoyment. We start with proper playing position and technique; no amount of note reading or ear training will help someone who develops pain or carpal tunnel from playing the piano incorrectly. We also cover note reading, rudimentary music theory, and musical interpretation, and we will proceed at a pace that is beneficial for your child. Lessons are always unique to each student (everyone learns differently), and we will design a special lesson plan just for your child.
Do you have any questions about our London piano lessons for kids? If so, please get in touch — we would love to meet you and your child, and we can start off with a trial lesson when you are available.
